the 2005 United Way Campaign. Your generosity boosted (Name of

United Way of Southeast Alaska brings people and resources
together to meet the most urgent needs in our community. We
partner with 33 health and human service agencies to meet these
needs.
A single, 51-year-old mother of four children lost her
job in February, and has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She
is about to lose her home. She needs a safety net of services
that can help with emergency shelter, childcare, and health
insurance.
United Way of Southeast Alaska is a volunteer-driven,
grass-roots organization that creates lasting change by bringing
together the people and resources to address community-wide
issues. Your gift to United Way of Southeast Alaska helps meet
urgent needs – and is working to produce lasting results for our
community.
A frail, elderly man lives alone. He has no family, no
friends. He must choose between eating or buying his medicine.
He needs contact with caring people who can connect him with
services that will allow him to live independently with dignity.
For 26 years, United Way of Southeast Alaska has helped
nurture children and youth, care for the elderly and people with
special needs, strengthen families and individuals. We work to
meet the basic needs of people in crisis– every day of
the year.
