Shauna Thornton and Loren Jones
2021 Campaign Co-Chairs
United Way of Southeast Alaska is proud to announce a dynamic team that will be leading United Way of Southeast Alaska’s annual giving campaign. Shauna Thornton, and Loren Jones, look forward to building on past success and stretching the campaign goal to $350,000 while also increasing both donors and donations.
United Way of Southeast Alaska’s Board Chair, Warren Russell, announced, “We really appreciate both Loren and Shauna taking on this important challenge. The annual campaign helps to fund United Way’s fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community across Southeast Alaska. Everyone deserves the opportunity to have a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Both Loren and Shauna have been great ambassadors for these causes in the past. We know that they will do an excellent job.”
Shauna Thornton currently serves as Branch Manager Lending with First National Bank Alaska in Sitka. Shauna has lived in various parts of Alaska since arriving here 30 years ago from Salt Lake City, Utah. Loren served on the Alaska Marijuana Control Board for six years. His community involvement has included the Juneau World Affairs Council, Hospice and Home Care/Catholic Community Services and currently working with the American Red Cross Southeast Alaska offices. Loren notes that “I have been a contributor for 40 years both via State Share Campaign and after that as an individual donor.
